This is the journal split from the primalurge art journal, specifically for icons. Very few iconmakers do icons on themes I'd use even when I like their work. Hence I'm making my own and I figured as long as I was putting so much effort into such a small thing I might as well share it as well. So. Since it's expected and all, here are THE RULES.

1.) Credit is appreciated, but not required.
2.) However, if someone does ask where they're from, no theft. Tell the truth. If I discover any violations that use art I personally created, I *will* proceed with legal action if I need to. I'm not one of those idiot artists who doesn't understand copyright law and screams "OMFG ART THIEFTINGZ OMG OMG SAEF MEEee1!! LOL WTF CANDycONDoMs" whenever someone reposts a piece of their work, but if you do so in a manner that implies, or outright states, that you created material which rightfully belongs to me, and I find out about it, there will be trouble.

And don't think I won't find out about it. Even if I don't run across it personally, anyone who recognises my work will alert me. So don't bother. (Not that I really think my work is worth stealing, but I've seen people steal art I wouldn't use to wipe my ass, so who knows.)

3.) No bitching about the subjects of the icons. I'm happy to do requests, but keep in mind that, unlike most icon makers, I am

a. A man.
b. Neither a teenager nor middle-aged.
c. Disabled
d. An asshole and unashamed of it.

So I reserve the right to reject any request on the grounds that I don't feel like doing it (this is to your benefit as well, because if I say I'll do something I don't want to do, it'll never get done if trying to do it takes more than ten minutes or if it turns in any way difficult. Which means I end up saying I'll do something I never do. Which is much worse than saying 'no' up front. I'll probably refrain from saying why unless I'm sure you won't be insulted by the reason, tho'. Things that seem perfectly innocuous to me have enraged others, also, so explanations will probably be sporadic. ^^;)

4.) There is no rule number four.
5.) I am a very slow worker sometimes, but that does not mean I'm dead, or have forgotten. I might go long periods between updates; this does not mean I have stopped making icons, or have abandoned the journal. If I intend to quit doing this, I'll say as much. If I haven't, I'm not gone, I'm just in a creative dry patch or too busy to post the ones I make.
6.) I am a professional artist and I literally make my food money off this; hence, if you like my work enough to want a request, I'd be extremely grateful if you'd consider a proper commission instead. Large groups of icons, specific icons that will require me creating a specific piece of art in order to make, art of a more traditional nature ... whatever. But part of the reason I'm doing this is to get some more exposure, so I can hopefully find some people who genuinely like my work enough to be willing to pay for it. (Everyone around me insists they exist if only I look hard enough. I don't really buy it, but maybe this project will surprise me. Who knows.)

Otherwise, I'm libertarian. Add the journal; this is not a community because I don't intend to let other people post here, so why make it a community? If you want to see me in a community format, check the list of communities this journal is a member of at the bottom. I'll be posting there as well; sometimes there'll be icons made specifically for a given community, in particular, so if you actually do like my work and don't want to miss any (heh, sure) you might want to keep that in mind.
